Wondering which Blu-ray deal to go for this coming Friday? Basically it comes down to these players.

Samsung BD-P1600-A – $149.99
Sony BDPS36 – $149.99
Magnavox NB500 – $78.99
Insignia NS-BRDVD3 – $99.99

Hands down, the Samsung BD-P1600-A is the one to target or look for. Two main things it has that the other players don’t (have both): Wi-Fi and Internet Streaming. Why are these two things so important? Well for one, blu-ray players, unlike DVD players have firmware updates. Sometimes new content is available that’s downloaded to the device itself, having wi-fi makes it convenient without having to run ‘another’ cord behind your already cluttered entertainment center. Internet Streaming is the other biggie.

As an avid Netflix user, you’re going to want this feature. Whether you have netflix or you don’t, eventually you’re going to want to try it, and you won’t regret it. Why? Because sometimes you just want to stream a series or movie and don’t want to wait, rent or ‘download’ a movie. Having the freedom to stream through Netflix is an amazing and I think important feature to any blu-ray player.

The rest of the specs on these players are practically the same, and so is the price point. The Insignia and Magnavox are cheaper but I would definitely go for the Samsung BD-P1600-A. In fact I may just place an order for it for my parents, haha.
